Placing a hold
For your convenience, patrons can place holds on library materials by visiting our online catalog and logging in to your account.
Just go to the catalog page and click on this button in the menu bar:
You must visit the library in person in order to get your login information before using this feature. You may also place holds by calling the library at 319-626-5701 or stopping at the circulation desk on your next visit.
PLEASE NOTE: Placing a hold online for items that are available for checkout does not guarantee the item(s) will be immediately available. If items are in and on the shelf our system does not alert us that a hold has been placed. We make every effort to run a report and pull items on hold as quickly as possible but occasionally an item will go out to another patron before our report is run. To ensure your hold, we encourage you to call the library at 626-5701 and request the item(s) be pulled.
Placing holds on books that have not yet been purchased:
Holds may be placed on book titles that are currently on order for the library. Popular titles that are on order may appear in the library catalog with a note stating THIS TITLE IS ON ORDER. If you do not see a book listed in the catalog and would like to place a hold, please call the library and ask for Dee or Jennie or email jgarner@north-liberty.lib.ia.us.
NOTE: Holds for anything other than book titles may only be placed on material that is currently in the library’s holdings.
Requesting titles for purchase:
If an item is not listed in our catalog, you may suggest the title for purchase by filling out a form online, in the library or by calling the library at 319-626-5701. Items must meet selection criteria to be considered for purchase.
If you have any questions please call or stop by the library.
