About 300 People attended the "Under the Big Top" grand finale for the Summer Reading Program.  Dean Franzen did a great job entertaining young and old as he juggled and joked through his performance.
Our weekly programs provided opportunities for future comedians, magicians, and actors to perform.  T-shirts, provided by Hills Bank, were earned by 279 "future performers".  The Kindergarteners through sixth graders read 5,152 books and the preschoolers listened for 46,000 minutes.  "Ole' McCrowner who has a Library" made an appearance in her purple hair.  She promised to dye it if kids read more books than they did last year.  They were 192 books short of topping last years; number but she dyed it anyway because Jamie Swihart (1st prize winner) read soooooo many books.

A record 68 teens signed up to participate in this year's teen summer reading program!  Of those 68 teens, 51 completed the program to earn their t-shirt and entered 772 raffle tickets into the grand prize drawings.  Those 51 kids read a whopping 417 hours and 39,820 pages combined in six weeks.
An average of 25 teens attended the weekly activities for the program, including a five-hour reading marathon, international food day, a candy making day, a water fight, a smoothie making contest and a day of grossology and silly sculpture.
