Register for a Library Account
A free library account is available to all who reside within the city limits of North Liberty or other communities where there are participating open access libraries in the State of Iowa.
If you live within city limits of a community in Johnson County that does not have a library, you will need to pay an annual user fee of $20 that is usually reimbursable by your city of residence.
Examples of acceptable idenfication include*:
- Valid Iowa Driver's License
- Valid Iowa State Identification Card
- Valid Voter's Registration Card
- Imprinted checks
- A pre-printed Lease Agreement
- First-class mail in an envelope postmarked within the last 30 days, along with ID that verifies the name
- Vehicle registration card
- Photo student ID
*Identification is used to verify your name and current address. If the ID you present does not have an address, you must also present proof of your current address, such as a dated utility bill in your name or other recently postmarked mail to that address.
Register in person:
Go to the North Liberty Community Library, ask to register and show identification.
Submit an application on-line (click on the button below) and then activate your library registration after showing identification in the library. Application will be processed in two business days in most cases. You can call the library to check on your application at (319) 626-5701. If a parent is obtaining a card for a child under 13, both the parent and the child must be present when the account is activated.
Please Note: All new patrons of the library will be automatically assigned conditional patron status for a period of three months. During that time, patrons may check out a limit of three items at a time. If your account remains in good standing after the three month period, your account will be reverted to regular patron status.
