NLCL’s TEEN ADVOCATE GROUP (TAG) is a group of teenagers from North Liberty and surrounding area. TAG members help the library and the Recreation Department with programming.

Mission Statement
North Liberty Community Library’s Teen Advocate Group was established to increase and enhance young adult programming. TAG members will work, under the direction of the library staff, to plan and present programming for young adults and other groups as needed. The primary responsibility of TAG is to ensure the ongoing development of young adult programs and offer services to attract young adults to the library.

On-going Goals
~ To bring young adults into the library
~ To select and purchase young adult materials
~ To develop and fund young adult programming
~ To aide in all areas of the library’s development
~ To assist community occasionally, as needed

TAG Requirements
~ New members are accepted September (Fiscal year Sept. - Sept.)
~ Members must have completed sixth grade
~ Officers are elected for two-year terms in September
~ New members cannot be officers
~ President must have been in TAG for at least two years
~ Members are trained to work in the library
~ Members are required to volunteer 24 hours each fiscal year
~ Members are expected to attend the monthly meeting. If a member cannot attend he/she must notify the TAG advisor before the meeting and talk to advisor after the meeting to be updated.
~ Members will vote and decide as a group what projects to undertake and how funds will be used, taking into consideration the needs of the library.
~ TAG will do fund-raisers throughout the year as needed.
~ Groups of at least three members will select and purchase young adult materials; rotating each month.
~ TAG will complete two to three programs each year.
~ Members will not be required to participate in programs that go against their beliefs.
~ All members present at a function will do an equal amount of preparation and clean-up.
~At the end of the year, TAG funds must have a minimum balance of $150.
~ Have FUN!
