Volunteer Opportunities for Kids at the NLCL

The NLCL values community service from people of all ages! We have a Junior Volunteer program that begins training kids as young as 4th grade to assist in the library.

Junior Volunteers work at the library one hour per week. They help out by shelving materials, shelf reading (making sure items on the shelf are in their correct locations), processing new materials, preparing programs and helping patrons locate books and information. There are monthly training/information sessions and at least two Junior Volunteer parties during the school year. If you or a child you know would like to be a Junior Volunteer, please contact us by calling (319) 626-5701 or send an email message to Elaine at ereitz@north-liberty.lib.ia.us.
